Claudio CAPELLI

(Italy)

Claudio is a artist-painter. These are the painting that he sells which enable him to live, the kite is a passion which nourishes him emotions. Its first flight, he does them when he was child with a simple rhombus. The revelation will come later, at twenty-eight years, In Central Park (New York). When he came back to Italy, he build his first kites and adopts the flat kites of Japanese origin (Edo and Rokkaku) like the support more adapted to his painting.

The kite is for him another form of plastic expression, a surface which offers the pleasure of new experiments and has the advantage of being exposed in full sky, to be visible by a great number, to show painting out of the confined space of the galleries.

Moreover, this alive object changes aspect according to the light, wind, sky and landscape.

If Claudio painted only faces on his kites, it's because he wants to believe, just like the Eastern ones, that the sky is inhabited and that kites that he met are there windows which make it possible the spirits to see us.

He benefits from galleries where he exposes kites, but he considers regrettable that the kites that one buys to him finish exposed on a wall : the kite life only when it flies.

Today, Claudio turned to another subject of creation in a radical way, by need, because he smelled it was needed and because art for him is not reflected but must be made with the stomach. This new orientation of work aims, through research on the matter, an esthetics around the traces.
